the holding space

Last updated: 27th Aug 2025

These Terms & Conditions outline the agreement between you (“the Client”) and Amanda Bull trading as The Holding Space (“the Midwife”) for the provision of private midwifery and postnatal care services.

1. Services Provided

  • Services are delivered in person at your home within the agreed service area (North Surrey and West London), or via remote consultation if mutually agreed.

  • Packages include only the visits and services detailed in the chosen plan.

  • Services do not replace NHS care but are intended as complementary support.

  • In case of emergency, you must contact NHS 111/999 as appropriate.

2. Availability & Communication

  • Clients purchasing any package have 24/7 access via WhatsApp for non-urgent queries.

  • Amanda will respond to messages within 4 hours of receipt.

  • Urgent matters requiring immediate medical attention should always be directed to NHS emergency services.

3. Pricing

  • Package prices are displayed on the The Holding Space website or in direct communication.

  • Additional visits or bespoke services are charged at the following rates:

    • £90 for 30 minutes (remote)

    • £180 for 1 hour (minimum for a home visit)

4. Payment Terms

  • Payment is required in full before services commence unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Payment can be made by bank transfer or card payment.

  • Packages are non-transferable.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before a scheduled visit can be rescheduled without charge.

  • Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable.

  • Refunds for unused package hours are at the discretion of the Midwife and will be calculated at the bespoke hourly rate, not the discounted package rate.

6. Client Responsibilities

  • You agree to provide accurate health and medical history relevant to your care.

  • You will ensure a safe working environment during home visits.

  • You understand that The Holding Space does not provide emergency medical care.

7. Liability

  • The Midwife will act with professional care and within the scope of midwifery practice.

  • No liability is accepted for outcomes outside the Midwife’s control.

  • This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

8. Data Protection

  • Your personal information will be handled in line with UK GDPR regulations and will not be shared without your consent, except where legally required.

By booking and paying for services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
